The Chamber Foundation is a non-profit public charity with the purpose of carrying out the charitable and educational activities of the Chamber of Commerce. It is a 501[c][3] organization that can accept charitable tax-deductible contributions from the general public. The Foundation makes grants to other non-profit organizations and charities in the community with the objective of serving the majority of residents and visitors, to help promote the fiscal viability of the area by supporting and attracting new businesses, thereby creating new employment opportunities and generally helping to improve the quality of life for area citizens.
Past recipients of grants include City of Saluda courtyard brick pavers project, City of Landrum Quilt Trail Banners, St. Luke’s Hospital lab equipment, Town of Columbus Fire Department plow for emergency removal of trees, snow, ice on roadways, Tryon Garden Club “Four Seasons of Creativity”, and Town of Tryon Fire Department for new carbon monoxide detectors.
Grants range in size awards up to $2000 and must fit the criteria outlined in the application. Grants are not awarded to individuals.
